1. Introduction
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Story Interviewing Academy (Canada) educational content, live sessions, and related services. By accessing our services you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.
- We operate in Canada and provide online and hybrid training worldwide.
- Some offerings may require enrollment and identity verification.
- We may update these Terms from time to time as described below.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, enrolling in a course, or otherwise using the services, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you are accessing on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization and “you” refers to the organization.
We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced via in-product notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory, or have consent from a legal guardian. Certain programs may require prerequisite skills or professional experience, which will be specified at enrollment.
You agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your account credentials.
4. Enrollments & Payments
Fees, taxes, and currency will be disclosed at checkout. Payments are processed by third‑party processors. You authorize us to charge the payment method you provide for the amounts due, including recurring charges where applicable.
- Access begins upon successful payment, unless otherwise stated.
- Discounts and scholarships are at our discretion and may be revoked for abuse.
- You are responsible for any bank fees related to your transaction.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the services, including by:
- Sharing account credentials or accessing another user’s account.
- Copying, distributing, or reselling content without permission.
- Uploading malware or content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringing.
- Disrupting live sessions or attempting to circumvent technical protections.
6. Intellectual Property
All rights in course materials, recordings, trademarks, and the platform are reserved by Story Interviewing Academy (Canada) or its licensors. Subject to payment and compliance, we grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable license to access the content for personal, non‑commercial learning.
7. User Content
You retain rights to content you submit, but grant us a worldwide, royalty‑free license to host, display, and adapt it for the purpose of operating and improving the services. You represent you have necessary rights and that your content complies with applicable laws.
8. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data are described in our Privacy Policy. We use necessary cookies for core functionality and, with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies. You can manage preferences below.
9. Cancellations & Refunds
Unless specified otherwise at purchase, you may cancel within 7 days for a full refund if you have consumed less than 10% of course content and have not attended a live session. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.
10. Disclaimers
The services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee specific outcomes or that content will be error‑free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
